Healthcare IT

Health IT, or health information technology, refers to the use of electronic systems and devices to manage and store patient health information. These systems are designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of healthcare processes, such as recording patient data, scheduling appointments, and prescribing medications. Health IT can also be used to support public health efforts, such as tracking and containing outbreaks of infectious diseases. Some common examples of health IT systems include electronic health records (EHRs), telemedicine platforms, and health information exchanges (HIEs). This can include electronic health records (EHRs), which are digital versions of a patient’s paper medical chart, as well as other tools and systems used by healthcare providers to manage patient data and care. The goal of health IT is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare by making it easier to access and share patient information, reduce errors and duplication, and support decision-making.
